No doubt one of the main appeals for the "i" products from Apple is the gesture / multitouch interface of their devices.

This looks to be stepping up a notch in the not too distance future should a technology from Deutsche Telekom laboratories takes off.

Called MagiTact it uses magnetic fields to "interact" with the compass features built into many of todays smart phones, researchers have developed a way for hand gestures to be actioned in the near proximity of the phone or device - much in the same way the Jedi knights waved their hands to influence Storm Troopers, a similar gesture will flip through your contact list or put your phone on silent....
